Baseball, MLB article at Knup Sports

College baseball countdown is getting really close with the next entry being #10 and then we are in the elite. Think about who is #1 year this season.

Our countdown in this article is #11 Oklahoma State. Head coach Josh Holiday is 362-199-2 in 10 years in charge of the Cowboys in Stillwater. In 2023, he will continue to have his brother, former major league player Matt Holiday as hitting hitting coach.

College Baseball in 2023, finds the Cowboys entering the season with three pre-season All-Conference selections. They include: second baseman Roc Riggio, 3B/RHP Nolan McLean and starting pitcher Juaron Watts-Brown.

Last season Oklahoma State finished with a 42-22 record and finished second in the Stillwater Regional to Arkansas. This year with six position players returning and a very good pitching rotation, thins are looking good for the Cowboys to take the big 12 conference.

As mentioned, McLean is back with his 100 mph fastball. He finished last year with  5 saves,4,97 ERA, 39K, 13BB and hit .285. Roggio batted .295, 11 HR, 14 doubles and drove in 47 runs. Watts-Brown is a transfer from Long Beach State where he was a Freshman All-American with a 4-4 record along with a 3.88 ERA, 111 K and 29 BB.
