Top Players of the Season so far in the NBA

Basketball, NBA, NCAAB, CBB, College Hoops article at Knup Sports

There are still a couple of months remaining in the 2023-24 NBA season, but it’s also been a great start. This continues to be a league that the top NBA players drive, and there have been some amazing performances already throughout the league.

When looking to bet on NBA player props each night, the main focus should be on the top players in the league. The recent All-Star Game highlighted a number of the best players in the NBA, but there are some that have stood out even more.

Looking at the NBA MVP odds is one way to figure out the top players of the NBA season, but there are others who don’t get the respect that they deserve. Here is a look at some of the best players in the league heading into the final stretch.

Nikola Jokic

Nikola Jokic did not come into the NBA with a ton of hype or expectations, but he has become one of the best players in the league. Jokic already has a pair of NBA MVP Awards to his name, and he is the currency betting favorite to win that award again this year.

All Jokic does is nearly average a triple double per night, and he is doing that at the center position for the Denver Nuggets. Denver is one of the top betting picks to win the NBA Championship as well, and Jokic is a nightmare for opponents.

At some point, Jokic is going to start slowing down, but he just continues to put up massive numbers every single night as one of the faces of the NBA.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

The Oklahoma City Thunder are one of the most exciting teams in the league, and they are also one of the youngest. This team has loaded up on top draft picks in recent years, and everything is starting to come together for this team.

While all that might be true, it is Shai Gilgeous-Alexander who has become one of the best players in the entire league this season. He is a scoring machine for the Thunder, and few teams have been able to slow him down at all.

If Jokic is not going to win the NBA MVP Award this season then it will likely go to SGA of the OKC Thunder. He is still a rising star as well, and he will be a player who only gets better as his career moves along.

Luka Doncic

Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks has been a superstar for the last few seasons, but now he is scoring nearly 35 points per game. He is another player that is capable of a triple-double every single night, and he does it with very little effort.

While Doncic has emerged as one of the top players in the league this season, he is still someone that needs to find a way to have more personal and team success in the postseason. The Mavericks haven’t always give their superstar a ton of support, but Doncic has been terrific this year to put his team in a good position.

Jayson Tatum

Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics should be a bigger MVP candidate this season, but he shares some of the shine with teammate Jaylen Brown. Even though both players are responsible for guiding the Celtics to the best record in the NBA, it is Tatum who typically does most of the heavy lifting.

Tatum is capable of scoring over 30 points per game, and he can put points on the board in a number of different ways. He is another player who should only become a bigger name in the league as time moves on, but he’s already someone who is the face of the league.

Can’t Forget the Old Stars

There does seem to be a youth movement going on in the NBA at this time, but that doesn’t mean that some proven veterans aren’t still playing extremely well. Stephen Curry and LeBron James are well past their prime, but they are still among the best overall players in the NBA.

Stephen Curry just went through a streak in which he made seven or more threes seemingly every time out, and he is doing all that he can to keep the Warriors in the playoff mix. Teams continue to do whatever they can to stop Curry, but his shooting prowess makes him nearly impossible to stop.

LeBron James is nearing the end of his Hall of Fame career, but you wouldn’t know it by watching him play each night. James is nearly averaging a double-double for the Los Angeles Lakers, and he is someone who will always be a problem for opponents.

Other players are having a big season, but these are the top NBA players that have shined the brightest up to this point.
