The Cardinals Place Lance Lynn On the 15 Day Injured List
St. Louis pitcher Lance Lynn is headed to the 15 Day IL, as he is dealing with inflammation in his right knee. Right now, the Cardinals are saying he is expected to return to action in mid-August.
What It Means
Lynn last took the mound on July 30th vs. the Rangers and picked up the win after going five innings and giving up just one earned run. Lynn struck out three and walked one in that outing. Overall, he has made 21 starts for the Cardinals, six of which were quality starts. His record for the season is 6-4 to go along with a 4.06 ERA and 1.36 WHIP.
With Mikolas out, the Cardinals will have to lean on Sonny Gray and Miles Mikolas even more to pick up wins for the team. The Cardinals are currently -125 favorites against the Cubs for today’s game with Erick Fedde on the mound.
