Best Maps in Call of Duty

Esports article at Knup Sports

Call Of Duty Black Ops II has been a hit over the past few months. As fans and players have gotten familiar with the maps in the game, I take a look back at the all time best Call Of Duty maps in this article.

I have recently found myself playing Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare II. My recent interest in the game had me thinking back to my golden days of Call Of Duty when the maps truly were one of the reasons the game did so well.

The community has been split on whether the maps of the newer games have been satisfactory. I believe the maps have been less than ideal for multiplayer purposes, as the game has strayed from its classic “three-lane” template to more free-form and realistic setups.

Hijacked

Hijacked was a map that was introduced in Call of Duty Black Ops II in 2012. The map returns in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 in the Blackout mode, and it can also be found in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

The map is set on a large hijacked superyacht. The map is filled with tight angles and sharp corners that force players into constant close-quarters combat. In the center of the map, there are two main cabins that overlook the “B” Flag position of the map. A small passage below the deck is also available for players to take in order to flank from one end of the map to another.

I especially loved this map because it consistently led to some of the most intense and tight games I’ve ever been a part of.

Raid

Raid was a map that was introduced in black ops II. The map can be found in variations in the games Call Of Duty Online, Call Of Duty Black Ops 4 (Blackout), Call Of Duty Mobile, and Call Of Duty Cold War.

Raid can best be described as a large map that is set on a mansion in Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles. The map is made up of three long central pathways for players to clash. The lanes also provide plenty of room for snipers and long-range players to do work.

The map is still considered to be a close-quarters map due to the number of close-range engagements the map forces players into via the central pathways.

Nuke Town

The greatest call of duty map of all time is by far and away nuke town. The map first appeared in 2010 and has appeared in Black Ops 2, Black Ops 3, Black Ops 4, Call of Duty Online, the current (terrible) Black Ops Cold War, and Call of Duty Mobile.

The Nuke town map features constant close-quarter combat, as it is one of the smallest maps Call Of Duty has ever put forth. The spawns behind the houses force players to head into battle as soon as their lives begin. The two houses also provide rooms with lookout points for snipers and other potential long and medium-range battles.
