The Smart Money: How the World’s Best Sports Bettors Beat the Bookies Out of Millions

Michael Konik began this wild ride by securing an interview with the “Brain Trust“. This group was led by Rick “Big Daddy” Mathews. Around the world of sports betting he was allegedly known as a snake and one to watch out for. He was famous for doing anything to gain an edge. But on one hand, he was a brilliant leader of the Brain Trust.

Konik wanted to learn about the sports betting business but never expected to be at the top level of smart money. At that spot, after winning over Mathews in an interview, he showed the group he was their guy to go to for anything in the business.

This led to getting rich on the Vegas lines , winning the offshore accounts and making horse trading deals with the devil, all with smart money. Konik was now the point man for the professional high stakes sports betting business. In the book he discussed the perils and the perks of the lifestyle he was in the middle of. He tells how some single event bets were $2 million. Just a plain football game in the NFL and this was a normal part of the sports betting routine.

The book is full of intrigue and insider information. The author fails to mention some names but many of those can be figured out rather easily. The book should be on your bookshelf.
