Baseball is known for dominant pitching and towering home runs, but perhaps the most exciting part of the game is something else. Watching players rock their hair is another significant part of America’s pastime.
There are some teams that embrace the personalities and some teams that prefer old-fashioned, well-cut individuals. On this list, we say, to heck with the trimmed hair, let it loose. Here are the top five hairstyles in MLB.
Chris Paddack, #5
Something about the country boy rocking the mullet really stands out. Chris Paddack is young playing in his fourth MLB season at 26 years of age. The stats may bounce around, but one thing stays consistent, that beautiful hair of his.
Paddack is pitching for the Minnesota Twins in 2022 after three years with the San Diego Padres. After exiting a game in May, the RHP ended his season as Tommy John entered through the door. He made five starts with a 4.03 ERA through 22.1 IP.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr., #4
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is the first MLB-positioned player to make the list. He is the type of guy that cannot go unnoticed out in public with those luscious locks of his.
The 23-year-old is the future of MLB baseball with his big bat and bigger hair. The two-toned style adds bonus points as well. In his fourth season, he is putting up .285, .359 and .499 with 63 RBI and 21 home runs.
Harrison Bader, #3
The MLB gold-glover Harrison Bader may have been under the radar this season due to injuries, but people will never forget about him, especially the girls. His long rapunzel-like hair is loved throughout the league
The former St. Louis Cardinal looks to get back to 100% with the New York Yankees after a last-second trade at the end of the deadline. He has a .256 batting average and .303 on-base percentage through 246 at-bats. Bader has also added 21 RBIs and 15 stolen bases in his 72 games.
Lourdes Gurriel Jr., #2
When you look up Lourdes Gurriel Jr. on Google, the third option that pops up is his hair. That alone makes him deserve a spot on this list. He has some absolutely funky and fluffy hair that he embraces.
Gurriel is the second MLB Blue Jay on this list, making Toronto have perhaps the best hair in baseball. The utility player is raking in 2022, batting .311, .363 and.427 with 42 RBIs. With Gurriel’s hair, if the baseball path does not work out, he can be a shampoo model.
Dustin May, #1
Okay, yeah yeah, Dustin May has not pitched this season as he is coming off of Tommy John, but we give credit where credit is due. With that being said, all the credit in the world goes to May and the ginger madness he has going on up there.
Dave Roberts says May spends a lot of time on his hair with many products and that it actually smells kind of nice. The 24-year-old is an electric pitcher out of the pen with the best hair in all of baseball.
